Resident Evil 9: Requiem has been shaping up to be a fantastic game. With there being a large focus on Grace, a character who isn’t your average gun-wielding badass, it looks like the new title will be one for those who love a good scare. However, Grace isn’t the only protagonist of Resident Evil Requiem, as Leon Kennedy has finally made his official appearance. Capcom revealed Leon during The Game Awards, and he has a completely new look compared to his younger self that many are used to from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 6.
Leon Kennedy is a Playable Character in Resident Evil 9
Many have speculated that Leon Kennedy would be a playable character in the upcoming Resident Evil game for a while. Leaks from long ago said that the primary protagonists of the next game would be Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine. This obviously wasn’t completely true, as Grace Ashcroft is one of the main protagonists in the next title.
Previous leaks also revealed Leon Kennedy as a playable character. A leak from the Portuguese PlayStation Store revealed that Leon would be getting a special outfit in the deluxe edition of Resident Evil 9, cementing that he would be a playable character. Of course, he hadn’t been seen until now.
In the latest trailer from Capcom, Grace takes center stage, but Leon makes his grand appearance, stepping out of a police car at around the 2 1/2 minute mark. Shortly after, he is seen saving Grace. In addition to showing off his look, Capcom gave everyone a brief glimpse of what it is like to play as Leon. In a flurry of clips, Leon can be seen blasting away infected enemies with his trusty pistol and even carving one up with a chainsaw, and, of course, he got a good kick in, showing that he his just as hard all these years later.
