Gameloft, developers of Disney Dreamlight Valley, have been adding characters to the game left and right. Both new and old faces have appeared in the valley from Mickey and Minnie to Vanellope and Rapunzel. While many fans might recognize these characters, not all will recognize the one we think will appear next; Oswald The Lucky Rabbit. For those who don’t know this character, he was the original character created by Disney Animation Studios. Based on recent information, we, and many others, believe that he will soon be making an appearance in the valley. Here is why.
Our first piece of evidence comes from an image that Gameloft posted to the official Disney Dreamlight Valley X page. This image is of the expansion roadmap. If you take a look at the center image, it states that we will “befriend a very lucky villager.” Since Oswald is known as “the lucky rabbit,” this could be pointing us in his direction.

Our second piece of evidence comes from a post from Gameloft on April 19, 2024. This post says “Looks like a Rift in Time has had an effect on dialogue in-game.” Since Oswald is from the era of black-and-white cartoons, it makes sense for this to be pointing in his direction. These black-and-white text boxes could affect the game for a period of time after the release of the next update and be resolved after we befriend this lucky rabbit.
Finally, the DLC itself basically screams that a character from another time period would be joining the valley. Since A Rift in Time focuses on different worlds colliding together, it would make sense that the original character from Disney Animation Studios would join the game. Unfortunately, it seems like Oswald will only be available for those who purchased the Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time expansion. Everyone else might still be getting Daisy.
