Helldivers 2 has been through a lot recently. Now that the fog of war has cleared, Arrowhead Game Studios is continuing to do its best to make Helldivers 2 a great game for everyone. Recently, the developer added the ability to report players in the game. This is great for when you need to deal with some rather undemocratic behaviour and many are hoping that this feature doesn’t get abused. On the other hand, there are also many who would like to see the addition of a commendation button – a way to tell their fellow Helldivers that they are appreciated. It would also be a great way to get rid of excess medals for those waiting on a new Warbond.
Reddit user Tyeren recently shared the feature in a post, showing off the reasons why you can report a player and so forth. However, the conversation quickly changed to one of showing your fellow Helldivers respect and rewarding them for outstanding democratic behavior.
One user commented, “Democratic behavior – congratulates them instead.” From there, an idea was born. The next individual included the idea of “commends and super commends.” They stated that normal commends would be to congratulate a player. Super commends, however, would “cost super credits, samples, or medals.” The recipient would then receive “75% of the purchase.”
Another user added onto this by saying, “Make Commends free – just tell’em you did a good job. Super Commends cost medals – 20 medals – and the person receiving it gets 10.” Multiple users responded to this positively with some saying they would love to have this implemented in an upcoming patch. This is another shining example of how the community is united. Instead of booting one another from games, many would like to share their wealth of medals and samples with others through commendations. Let’s stay united!
