The hunt for the infamous CYBERLEEK continues as their spree of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks continues. The identity of this person or group remains unknown, but they’ve made enough waves to finally draw the attention of Take-Two. This disruption has spawned new subpoenas that have been issued to Microsoft and Discord to narrow the search, which includes the release of user data as well as any associated OneDrive or linked Xbox accounts.
The Hunt Continues
Recently, Take-Two has petitioned both Microsoft and Discord to aid in their search for the infamous GTA 6 leaker. This comes in the form of both companies having to share any records related to various online accounts involved in posting or spreading leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 before its November release.
“The copyrighted material includes but is not limited to audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, or other creative elements,” reads a subpoena filed with the Southern District Court of New York on August 20. It continues, “Take-Two, through its counsel of record, has submitted a sworn declaration confirming that the purpose for which the DMCA subpoena is sought is to obtain the identity of an alleged infringer or infringers, and that such information will only be used for the purpose of protecting Take-Two’s rights.”
One petition in particular gives Microsoft up until September 4th to produce “all internal Microsoft business records and investigative records associated with Microsoft’s internal investigation of the ‘cyberleek’ persona sufficient to identify the user(s), person(s) and/ or entity/ies associated with that persona.”
Going Down in the Discord
Discord has that same September 4th deadline to produce records related to “all user accounts that are/ were members communicating with Discord server(s)” that are associated with cyberleek, “CINEMATICROCKSTAR”, and “Surfer24k”. The last bit of records that are being requested are also tied to the popular GTA 5 Twitch and YouTube streamer Matthew “Matt” Judge.
“All identifying information associated with all user accounts that are/were members communicating with the Discord server(s) listed below during the time period from June 1, 2026 to present; and for those accounts, provide any associated device/telemetry records where one or more of the tool/file artifacts below were present on the system. For each returned account, provide: the account ID, registration email, registration and last-login IP addresses, phone number, linked connections (Google/Xbox/etc.), any associated device identifiers (MachineGuid/MSA), and content related to Grand Theft Auto (‘GTA’), Rockstar or Cyberleek from their OneDrive account.”
Are They Closing In?
No one truly knows who CYBERLEEK really is. And by the hour, more leaks are coming from them, ranging from gameplay to some cinematics. There was also a totally separate incident involving an Xbox Graphics file that leaked, which continues to reveal a “significant amount of game data.” This past week’s worth of GTA 6 leaks will most likely stand as one of the wildest times in gaming as it’s all tied to one of, if not the biggest, game release of all time. But time will tell if the clock is truly ticking for the infamous CYBERLEEK, or if this spree continues.
