While at the Day of the Devs Summer Game Fest Showcase, Publisher Digital Vortex Entertainment shared a behind-the-scenes look at their upcoming fishing adventure game, DREADMOOR. This dark fishing adventure is set within the ravaged lands of a post-nuclear apocalypse, and your boat serves as your lifeline. But stray too far off the beaten path, and you’ll come across something that views you as its next meal.
Caught on the Hook
In DREADMOOR, you’ll set out on this rickety fishing boat across a plague-ridden bayou, where the Sea Blight crafted its own dangerous ecosystem. In your travels, you’ll have to scavenge supplies scattered across the wreckage of doomed vessels and craft unique gear to hunt down your next big catch. But it is easier said than done, mainly because if you come across the wrong fish, you may become the main course.
While at Summer Game Fest, Rostislav Fedorov, CEO of Dream Dock, explains that within this new trailer, he explains that your boat is merely a lifeline and you are free to explore this strange land. The world around you is dangerous, but it is home to survivors who all have a story to tell. “We’re honored to be part of this summer’s Day of the Devs showcase,” Fedorov said. “In addition to being game developers, we’re all huge fishermen at Dream Dock, and we’re hoping to share that passion – in our own twisted way – with DREADMOOR.”
Sink or Swim
DREADMOOR is a title we got hands-on time with while at PAX East 2026. And in our time with it, we came away with a lasting impression of the dark world Digital Vortex and Dream Dock crafted. Our own Adam Gumby cited this title as a mix between Dredge and Sea of Thieves, and that comparison couldn’t be any more spot on. And we can confidently say the more we see of it, the more we can’t wait to cast a line within the world of DREADMOOR in the near future.
