Are the Link and Samus Cameos in Super Mario RPG Remake?

When the original Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars was released for the Super Nintendo in 1996, fans were delighted to find that it was full of cameos and easter eggs. Two that stuck out most were brief appearances from the protagonists of other famous Nintendo franchises. These were interstellar bounty hunter Samus Aran from the Metroid series and Hylian hero Link from the Legend of Zelda series. Samus could be found resting in a bed in a guest room of the Mushroom Kingdom Castle after Mario and friends defeated Speardovich before traveling to World’s End. If spoken to she will say that she is resting up for Mother Brain. Link can be found in sleeping in a bed at Rose Town Inn. With the recent release of the Super Mario RPG remake for the Nintendo Switch many fans have been curious about whether or not these cameos make a reappearance.

Can you find Link and Samus in Mario RPG?

The answer is a resounding yes, they can both be found in exactly the same manner as the original game. Furthermore, in the remake encountering these two will create entries in the game’s scrapbook. Samus’s entry is called Sleeping Bounty, while Link’s is called The Slumbering Hero. Fans have even gone so far as to rip the models from the game, and have found that Link and Samus’s entire torsos are rendered despite the fact that they are mostly covered up within the game.
