A Baldur’s Gate 3 player is warning others not to beat Orin while Wildshaped. In fact, here is a formal PSA to remind everyone that Wildshape can get a bit funky in BG3. This BG3 player found that out the hard way by having one of the most crucial scenes play out while they were in dino form. Instead of being treated to a riveting scene where they beat the Dark Urge within themself, user GloopTamer on Reddit stared blankly with the occasional dino smirk.
You can watch the cutscene play out below if you aren’t afraid of watching some major Dark Urge playthrough spoilers. Those who haven’t enjoyed this storyline yet should probably see what it has to offer first. If you are cool with spoilers, press on and see the glory for yourself. Don’t worry, this isn’t the dino mod and is entirely able to be replicated if you want to try it yourself.
This isn’t the first cutscene that players have seen with animals involved. One player beat the game with everyone in their party taking the shape of cats. This had nothing to do with Wildshape and instead involved Wild Magic but the same principle applies. When shape-changing is involved, things tend to get weird in the Far Realms.
Multiple players commented on the post stating that they had similar reactions. User Brad462969 said they were “displacer beast and Jaheira was an owlbear when I [they] killed Orin and embraced daddy’s legacy. The following cutscene of an owlbear chewing out a large cat was pretty funny.” Others made obvious parallels to Jurassic Park with one stating “Clever Girl” like Robert Muldoon’s character in the original movie.
Another user stated that it needs a “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” banner from the movies. If the same creator who made the Save a Bear, Ride a Druid video could add some Jurassic Park music we would appreciate it.
