HEXWORKS has released a patch for Lords of the Fallen that reduces the number of enemies you’ll encounter in areas, making for an all-around less difficult playthrough. Though, if you’ve already beaten the game, the update also added in a tiered New Game Plus system as well as a seasonal event just in time for Halloween.
What is included in the Lords of the Fallen Pumpkin Patch update?
There’s actually quite a bit added to the patch. A revamped New Game Plus, otherwise known as NG+, introduces Vestiges to the mode. With each higher level of NG+ removing Vestiges from the game. Full crossplay is finally part of the game and those playing on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC can all explore together or fight one another throughout Mournstead. You’ll also find fewer enemies in specific areas around the map, thanks to feedback from players. Below you’ll find all of the updates listed by HEXWORKS.
The Pumpkin Patch update includes:
- Revamped New Game Plus (NG+) – A new tiered NG+ system introduces Vestiges to the game mode; each higher level of NG+ removes more Vestiges from the game, increasing player difficulty.
- Full crossplay – Players can now experience full crossplay functionality between all PC and console platforms. This follows the introduction of crossplay between Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation®5 players for the first time earlier this week.
- Reduced enemy density – A reduction of the enemy density in areas observed as being most challenging for players.
- Performance & stability – Further performance and stability fixes across all platforms.
In addition to the updates, the developer also added a time-limited seasonal update. From October 26 through November 2, you’ll find the world decorated with pumpkins and other Halloween decor. You’ll even find a new questline that ends with you obtaining the Pumpkin Mask inspired by the jack-o’-lantern.
