Since Stellar Blade became available to pre-order, many have been wondering the same thing; where is the physical deluxe edition? To that, we say, there isn’t one. This was unfortunate news for players who rely on physical copies of a game or who simply like to have physical editions. Luckily, it looks like Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has a plan for a Stellar Blade digital deluxe upgrade for those who bought the physical edition. While this won’t suddenly make a physical deluxe edition become available, it will at least give players the option to purchase the additional content.
User Skaar82 on Reddit posted a response they received to an email they sent out on March 15, 2024, to Shift Up. In the original email, the user asked about the potential of getting a Stellar Blade digital deluxe upgrade added to the PlayStation Store. To this inquiry, Shift Up responded by saying the “PlayStation Team has a plan to upgrade from the physical edition to the digital deluxe edition.”
The email ends with the Shift Up representative saying “Please wait for an update notice regarding the matter on the store page.” There is no telling exactly when the game will get the digital deluxe upgrade but there isn’t much time left before it becomes playable so the team better act quickly if they want to make this upgrade available prior to the game’s release date.
Stellar Blade is available to pre-load now for those who purchased the digital edition of the game. Those who purchased the physical edition should be getting their copies on or around April 26, 2024, depending on if the game is being shipped or if they are picking it up from the store. Keep an eye on the PlayStation Store in the coming week to see if a digital deluxe upgrade becomes available as well.
