While at IGN Live 2026, Studio Wildcard’s co-founder, Jeremy Stieglitz, took to the IGN stage to reveal a wide range of new things happening within the world of ARK. Celebrating its 11th anniversary, ARK fans can expect the arrival of ARK Maker, along with a brand new chapter in the ARK saga in the Genesis Ascended Part 1 remaster and the Tides of Fortune expansion.
A Jurassic-sized Creation
As revealed on the IGN Live stage, ARK Maker is a powerful new world-building mode that will allow both PC and console players to build, share, and explore their custom maps within ARK: Survival Ascended. “ARK Maker lowers those barriers by enabling powerful content creation on every platform within the game itself, enabling millions more players to build the ARK experience of their dreams. Our community has always been incredibly creative, and with this far more accessible tool, we can’t wait to see what they design,” said Jeremy Stieglitz, co-creative director and lead designer, Studio Wildcard.
Turning the Tides
On June 25th, the next chapter of ARK comes with the launch of the free Genesis Ascended Part 1 remaster, along with the premium Tides of Fortune expansion. This will not only feature a complete rebuild of the fan-favorite Genesis map, but it will also feature ARK’s first-ever physically simulated oceans and dynamic weather systems. Survivors will also be able to partake in large-scale naval combat with customizable ships and tame new creatures like the rideable Axoltl.
11 Years of Exploration
It’s hard to believe ARK has been around for 11 years now. Since its early days, the game has taken on a whole new form with multiple lands to explore, creatures to tame, and secrets to uncover. Adding the ability to create your very own map with ARK Maker adds yet another new layer to the already expansive ARK experience. As we look to the future, there seems to be no shortage of things to do in the world of ARK, and Studio Wildcard has no plans on stopping any time soon.
