Do you need some tips and tricks to help you survive as a victim in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? As a victim, your only goal in the game is to survive your captors, the Slaughter Family. These ruthless killers aren’t afraid to track you down and take you out should you be brave enough to attempt an escape.

At the start of a match, you will pick from one of five different victims, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. Some are better at sneaking around the compound while others are able to take more hits. Whichever character you choose will alter your playstyle. Are you prepared to go toe-to-toe with the family? Here are some tips and tricks for playing as a victim in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

How to survive as a victim in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

There are many things to look out for in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Are you bleeding too much? Can you open the next door? What is going on with Grandpa? These are all questions you might find yourself asking. Below are some tips to help you succeed and escape the family for good.

Know your exit

It is important to know how you plan on escaping before you blindly start running around the compound. Will you go out through the basement? What about taking a strong through the pressure gate? These are both great escape plans but they require different tools.

Knowing how you plan on escaping will make the difference when it comes to searching for items. After all, you need to gather the fuse if you want to open the route through the basement or the water valve to open the pressure gate.

Try out every victim

Each victim plays a little differently and each one has their own abilities that separate them from the others. When you start up a match, you most likely won’t be able to snag your favorite victim so knowing each one’s abilities and how they play will help you in the long run.

This tip is also good for those who primarily play as a family member. No matter what team you are on, you can never guarantee you will always get to play as the same character so keep this in mind for you start focusing on one victim or family member.

Always have an unlock tool

Unlock tools are a necessary item in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Various doors on each map will be locked and you will need an unlock tool to open them back up. On top of that, certain family members can put locks on doors to prevent you from accessing them, meaning you need to break the lock before you can rely on the door again.

Luckily, obtaining unlock tools is as simple as finding a toolbox around the map. You shouldn’t ever have a shortage of them as long as you know where the toolboxes are.

Watch your health

As you are playing as a victim, you are not in perfect condition starting off. You have been tortured and beaten so, therefore, you are bleeding out. The longer the match goes on, the more your character will start to bleed. This will result in you leaving a trail that the family members can follow.

Be sure to snag a health item whenever you need them. These bottles of elixir can be found scattered around each map. Always be on the lookout for one, especially if you recently got attacked.

Be aware of your surroundings

There is a lot going on when a match begins. You need to escape the basement and then look for a means of escaping whatever map you are on. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by everything. Watch your surroundings and look out for things like chickens, hanging bones, and traps.

Getting caught in a trap can be a death sentence. Alerting a chicken by moving too fast around it or hitting the hanging bones will alert the family to your location. Be sure to always watch your surroundings or you will be the first to get taken out.
