There is already a lot that players can expect for the future of Helldivers 2. After releasing a patch full of weapon buffs, the team stated that they would be focusing on more buffs in the future. On top of that, leaks are spreading of a clan system being added to the game, allowing players to build and customize their own battle station. Whether you are an older player or someone who is just now joining the fight for democracy, you have a lot to look forward to. Now, talk of vehicles is coming back as Twinbeard teases the possibility of them being added to Helldivers 2 in the near future.

Gameplay leaks of vehicular combat in Helldivers 2 already exist. For example, @Mr_Rebs_ posted a video on X of an APC being used on the battlefield back in March. In the video, two players can be seen riding atop the vehicle, shooting various Automatons as they rove across the battlefield. In reply to this post, user @somnium_dusk replied with their own gameplay footage.

An unreleased armored personnel carrier stratagem is appearing in Helldivers 2 matches. There are now three unreleased player-controlled stratagems (Mech, Recon vehicle, APC). #Helldivers2 pic.twitter.com/MlwKhi7z4k

Their video shows them calling down the same APC as Mr_Rebs_ shared in the main post. Mr_Rebs_ also shared that there are three types of vehicles; mechs, APCs, and Recon. While these videos were posted a while back, it does show that Arrowhead may have been working on them all this time and waiting for the right time to release them.

To further the excitement, a fan recently posted on the Helldivers 2 Discord server saying, “Will there ever actually be vehicles released if you happen to read this, still feels like getting around takes long, not because we’re necessarily slow, but more so because the maps are epic in size for the most part.”

In response to the question, Helldivers 2 community manager Twinbeard said, “Vehicles? Possibly.” While this doesn’t confirm that vehicles will definitely be coming to the game, it does show that there is still a possibility of them appearing in a future update. We believe the main issue lies in the game itself because the team already stated that there is an issue with having multiple mechs being used at one time. Perhaps they still need to iron out some of the kinks with vehicles to prevent crashes.
